By the sounds of the interviews, seems like Mark and I have different opinions of this song. The title reads Seattle’s unsung heroes remember (and not fondly) the grunge-pop anthem and ‘Singles’ stand-out”.

I don’t think I said anything negative about that song in the interview. I think it was a good song. It was not my favorite on that record but it was good. Also how can I complain about the sucess it has had? That is not a negitive thing, for me at least. I am not sending any of my checks back!

I am proud of that record and what we did with it.

Due to my extensive summer schedule (camping, fishing, crabbing and the like) I we have decided to delay our record release until August 31st.

Sorry for the delay but hey, a guy has got to enjoy his summer.

Sometimes, the hardest part of writing up one of these things is knowing where and how to start. Like this one for example. I’ve had a dull week at work where nothing much has happened except for me getting a movable-type rubber stamp which I have been duly abusing for days on end (my personal fave can be viewed here), the predicted snow chaos didn’t happen anywhere near here and so held little interest, and that’s about it.

So it was nice to have the mundanity scuppered by the surprise arrival of this record from Seattle’s YB’s, a band I know next to nothing about (let alone what the YB stands for) making music that largely defies a cohesive description. Of course, I could read and relate the info that accompanied this, but I always feel that doing so is cheating slightly, as well as ruining the surprise…

Hello.

I wanted to first thank you all for supporting real independent music in 2011. With the release of Screaming Trees “Last Words” on Barrett Martin’s Sunyata Label and the Microdot Gnome and Legend of Bigfoot releases on Strange Earth 2011 was just the start of a waterfall of great music coming your way.

We have a lot planned for you in 2012. Right now I working on firming up dates but here is what I am thinking right now.

VALIS – Minds Through Space and Time (our first vinyl lp release!) – Spring 2012
Mircodot Gnome “4D Sugar Cubes” Re-Release – Spring 2012
Microdot Gnome “TBD” All new full length record – Summer 2012
Solomon Grundy “Stone Soup and Other Stories” – At some point in 2012
VALIS/Kitty Kitty – Re-Release – First Ep originally released on Man’s Ruin” – At some point in 2012

We are also working with The Legend of Bigfoot on putting out their full length record but it is still in the works so we can’t even make a guess at when it will be ready and out.

And yes there are one or two more bands bubbling up from the underworld that we are in talks with so keep an eye out for more info soon!
